A fine quality ormolu mounted ebony cased bracket clock, c1710, by William Martin, at the Guildhall, London. William Martin was admitted as a member of the Honourable Clockmakers’ Company of London in 1709. The original (unreliable) verge escapement was converted to anchor escapement c1750-1760. The clock has just been fully overhauled by a Professional member of the British Horological Institute
