‘Wash Day’ Oil on board c1930 by Harold Dearden A.R.C.A. Harold Dearden was a painter in oil and watercolour; he was born in 1888, studying at the Rochdale School of Art under H.B. Carpenter between 1905 and 1910, and at the Royal Cambrian Academy under Moira between 1910 and 1915. He exhibited at the principal London galleries and was head of the Swindon Art School between 1920 and 1950. He was elected Associate of the Royal College of Art.
